How our calendar works: Routt County Rifle Club is a private range and not open to the public except during certain events - click on an event for details to see if it is open to non-members. For our members: Every entry indicates a reservation of a particular area - during the reservation, that area is open only to participants in the event. Click on an event for details if you’re interested in joining. The first word of each entry indicates the area that is reserved (eg: RIFLE for the Rifle Range). Steel Challenge 2024 starts May 9!
Steel Challenge will run Thursday evenings at 5:30 through the summer. It is open to the public - new shooters of all levels and abilities are welcome!
Steel Challenge is a speed shooting competition. We shoot four stages each week - you are scored by the times it takes you to complete each stage and the match winner is the competitor with the lowest overall time. There are five steel targets on each stage; one hit per target is required; you get five runs. Generally speaking, you will need a magazine fed pistol (9MM is most common) and at least 3 magazines. Bring at least 150 rounds.
